Claim Info:

Old Lode Mine in the Greenhorn District of Baker and Grant County, OR.

Great opportunity with this claim. It has a record of producing gold and there are some enormous tailings piles you can work. We believe tis mine was historically named the "Windsor", but it may have been named the "Psyche." This mine is part of the "Harrison Group" of fourteen claims. An assay performed on ore taken from the dump shows about 1/5 ounce per ton, and there is an awful lot of the waste rock in the tailings pile. We also found a notice from 1938 which showed platinum was found in the Psyche mine which was 1.38 ounces per ton. We can't verify this was the Psyche mine, but the platinum, if not found at this mine, was found very close to this mine. From the topo you can see this mine is very close to Psyche Butte which is why we believe it is either the Psyche mine, or a close neighbor. There is a lot of potential with this mine and from the old structures you can see significant work was put into it. There is an open incline shaft which is accessible near the old headframe and there is a second, closed shaft on the claim.

The assay, shown below in the picture, is based on a 10lb sample pulled from the dump. The actual shaft has a metal grate over it, and will have to be cut if you want to extract ore from the vein. The assay shows about 1/8 oz to the ton from surface dump samples. It's unknown what the actual ore would sample.

Significant gold mining began in the Greenhorn District in the 1860s. Like many other gold rushes, it was short lived. By 1910 the town of Greenhorn had lost half its population as miners sought better opportunities, leaving behind countless abandoned lode mines. The Roberts is a real lode mine. Significant mining was done here as evidenced by the enormous tailings piles

This is a fairly remote mine, you can plug in the GPS coordinates to get a view of its location. The topo map, shown below, provides a detailed view of the location, including the location of the 4 corners.

Access to the mine is by a decent road and you'll have no problem bringing a truck or equipment in. As shown in the overhead view there is a fairly large area you could put an RV trailer in to live out of during the mining season.

This mine is about 1 mile from another mine we are offering - The Frye Lode Mine. Ask about a deal to buy both of them.

You can also check out the Fryes Mine we're selling in the same district. It's a very similar lode mine.
